Muhammad Ali fought George Foreman on October 30, 1974, in Kinshasa, Zaire. Given little chance, Ali knocked Foreman out in the 8th round to win the World Heavyweight Title for the second time. Ali employed a "rope-a-dope" strategy of covering up on the ropes and letting Foreman hit him until he tired. The strategy worked as an exhausted Foreman could not rise after being hit in the 8th round. Offered here is an original, oversized closed circuit poster for the fight. The poster exhibits beautiful shots of both fighters against the African continent. Bold colour, print and clear images. The condition grades about good. Brown tape has been applied along the borders for reinforcement or previous framing. It has the original fold lines as these large format posters were issued that way in 1974. There are two symmetrical tears of about 5" in length to the lower left and right edges of the poster (positioned were the bottom horizontal fold line is). There are a few pin holes to the corners/edges. Measures 39" x 47." A scarce poster in this size.
